Rash Guards and UV Shirts

A UV shirt is not a rash guard, even though rash guards have the same amount of UV protection. The differences in UV shirts are that they are made from a water repellent fabric, are cut differently, and are good for many applications.

A rash guard is great for surfing or body boarding, but outside of that, there is very little need to wear one because of the comfort factor. That's where UV shirts shine. Our UV shirts are cut just like a regular t shirt, so you can wear them comfortably in and out of the water. You can wear them just as comfortably snorkeling as you can mowing the lawn or going for a walk.

UV shirts provide you with a sun protection rating of 50+ UPF, which is comparable to a SPF of 150 or higher. The UV rating does not fade over time either, so this shirt will always provide you with the same level of protection.

The fabric that our UV shirts are made out of is a very comfortable and water repellant. This means that it will dry quicker than your standard rash guard when you get out of the water, as the shirt itself never actually absorbs any water. Also, these UV shirts are very breathable and wick away sweat if you're using them for a workout of some kind.

UV shirts are always a great addition to your outside wardrobe, and if you have any further questions, please send us an email or call and we will be glad to help you!
